Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Hotel Maintenance Coordinator to oversee maintenance operations across our hotel portfolio in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating preventative and reactive maintenance, ensuring all properties are maintained to the highest standards, managing contractors, and supporting refurbishment projects when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee maintenance activities across multiple hotel properties.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance requirements and ensure properties remain in excellent condition.
- Plan and manage preventative maintenance schedules to minimise operational disruptions.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues and emergency repairs.
- Coordinate and supervise external contractors, engineers, and service providers.
- Monitor the quality and completion of maintenance work.
- Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations, fire safety requirements, and statutory building compliance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, compliance certificates, warranties, and asset registers.
- Assist in planning and delivering refurbishment and improvement projects.
- Source quotations and manage relationships with suppliers and contractors.
- Monitor maintenance budgets and control expenditure effectively.
- Work closely with hotel management to minimise guest disruption during maintenance activities.
- Identify recurring issues and implement long-term maintenance solutions.
- Prepare regular maintenance reports for senior management.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Services, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in hotel maintenance, facilities management, property maintenance, or building management.
- Good understanding of building systems including:
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- HVAC
- Fire alarm and life safety systems
- General building repairs
- Knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and statutory compliance.
- Experience managing contractors and maintenance suppliers.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).
- Willingness to travel between company properties when required.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience within the hospitality or hotel industry.
- Experience managing maintenance across multiple sites.
- Familiarity with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes.
- Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an advantage.
