Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager / Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the kitchen, preparing high-quality meals, and ensuring smooth service delivery. The successful applicant will play a vital part in maintaining food safety standards and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Also you would assist in the running of the shop as well as kitchen and ordering ,cover sickness and holidays .
Responsibilities
- Assist in the overall management of kitchen operations, including staff supervision and workflow organisation
- Prepare a variety of meals according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Oversee food preparation processes to ensure quality, consistency, and timely service
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- Support serving staff during busy periods to ensure efficient customer service
- Enforce health and safety policies within the kitchen environment
- Train new staff members on food preparation techniques and safety procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous experience working in a cafe or kitchen/ catering environment is highly desirable but not essential as full trading will be given.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
- Ability to lead by example, motivate team members, and maintain a positive working environment
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques, culinary trends, and serving protocols
