The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, balanced, and appealing meals tailored to the dietary needs of our residents. You will ensure that all meals are prepared to a high standard, following food safety regulations and individual dietary requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
- Work closely with care staff to adapt menus for individual requirements (e.g., puree, diabetic diets, allergies).
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards in the kitchen.
- Order and manage stock efficiently, minimising waste.
- Support and supervise kitchen assistants where applicable.
- Contribute to menu planning and seasonal updates.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety and environmental health regulations.
About You
- Previous experience as a Chef or Cook, ideally within a care home or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of nutrition, special diets, and food safety standards.
- Level 2 (or higher) Food Hygiene and Safety Certificate.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A caring attitude and genuine interest in the wellbeing of older people.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
