Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Line Leader/Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves overseeing production lines, ensuring machinery operates efficiently, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The successful candidate will play a vital part in delivering safe, high-quality food products in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in food production or mechanical knowledge is advantageous, along with a strong understanding of HACCP principles and basic maths skills.
Duties
- Operate and monitor production machinery to ensure smooth and efficient operation
- Lead a team on the production line, providing guidance and support to achieve targets
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment, identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues
- Maintain accurate records of production data, adhering to food safety standards such as HACCP
- Assist with setting up machinery for different production runs and changeovers
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Support quality control processes by inspecting products for defects or inconsistencies
- Follow all food safety protocols to uphold the integrity of the manufacturing process
Requirements
- Prior experience in food production or manufacturing is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with machinery maintenance is advantageous
- Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards is desirable
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and record keeping
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and the ability to lead a team effectively
- Ability to work flexible shifts as required, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends if necessary

Pay: £13.25-£14.50 per hour
