Work to define the HR policies that help protect the UKs global interests
When you join our friendly and collaborative HR team, youll focus on interpreting government or civil service guidance and translating it into clear, fit-for-purpose policies and procedures. Leading on a number of important projects and programmes, and ensuring we achieve the necessary commitments to the departments action plans, youll also support business transformation initiatives that promote efficiency and help us meet our commercial targets.
Working with senior colleagues to ensure employment processes are up-to-date, and identifying the impact of changes to employment legislation, well expect you to communicate any changes to HR policy and procedures which impact budgets, planning or individual members of staff. Ready to provide your expert advice and coaching to managers, and helping to oversee the maintenance and updating of the HR policy HUB pages, youll also work on Trade Union negotiations that relate to any proposed policy changes or the terms and conditions of employment.
Use all your HR skills with an organisation that helps to keep the country secure
To be a success in this role youll have the ability to research and distil complex information, and be ready to produce policy documents that align with our organisational and regulatory frameworks. Highly analytical and a confident communicator with excellent writing skills, youll be capable of engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. Proactive, flexible and able to work across departments, wed prefer you to have some experience of working in the civil service or with a public sector organisation such as local government or the NHS.
It's important that you have a CIPD qualification or equivalent experience working in a HR role, preferably in operational, policy or change management, and the ability to provide advice on employment legislation, Civil Service codes, standards, terms and conditions and working practices. You will also possess strong organisational, project and people management skills, and be a confident user of IT including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
