Job title: Footwear Production Operative (Machines)
Reporting to: Footwear Production Manager
Location: Footwear Factory, RH10 9JY
Contract: 6 month Fixed Term Contract
We are recruiting for a Machine Operative to work in our Crawley Footwear factory (workmasterboots.com). Working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, the normal working hours are 2:00pm to 10:00pm. During your initial training period, you may be required to work alternative hours to support your learning and development. Training hours may vary for a limited period only, after which you will move to the standard 2:00pm to 10:00pm shift pattern.
Respirex are manufacturers of market-leading industrial personal protective clothing that are sold globally. Our dedicated Crawley site uses state-of-the- art production methods and relies upon collaborative team-work to make our boots efficiently.
Ideally you will have previous experience within a manufacturing environment, but we will consider applications from people who do not have this because we will train you in full. It would be great if you have a Fork Lift Truck License but it is not essential.
Scope:
To work as part of the team on the shop floor to produce high quality protective footwear.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Maintaining and promoting a clean and organised work environment
- Ensuring our customer orders are met to our high standards of quality
- Ensuring all safety and compliance procedures are maintained accurately and consistently
- Working with line managers to continuously improve process and procedures
- Assisting with maintenance of equipment and cleaning as required
- Complete quality checks and record results, reporting any non-conformances
- Contribute to meeting team and company-wide production targets, which make a real difference to our business and our customers
- The position will involve tasks such as manual handling, lifting of heavy objects, manual dexterity, and long periods of standing.
Experience:
- Working within a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
- The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated, be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team, have an organised/systematic approach to their work and possess good communication skills.
