JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title ~ Care Support Workers for Adults with Disabilities
Pay - At least the NMW (depending on age)
Hours - We have a number of shifts available due to staff retiring. Contract hours will be agreed based on the number of shifts the prospective worker(s) chooses to take on. Therefore we can offer posts to multiple workers of varying hours or to one/two people if they want a large number of hours. We have varying shifts available from 3 - 12 hrs. Predominately a large number of hours are over the weekends but there is some shifts available mid week. We support with care in their homes 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Therefore shifts can be a sleep in shifts, or take place in an evening or during the day.
We are also happy to take on staff that wish to be considered bank staff to cover annual leave, sickness or when our clients require extra 1-1 staffing.

Summary of the role
To support and care for adults with disabilities to live as independently as they can in their own homes. To look after their physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs using a person-centred approach.
To create and maintain good professional relationships with adults with learning disabilities, their family and friends and other stakeholders.
To adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations and CAM Supported Living’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.
To promote a positive and professional profile always ensuring the good reputation of the company.
Key Responsibilities
To provide personal care and assistance to adults with learning disabilities to help them dress, wash, bathe, toileting, and showering.
Helping with everyday household tasks such as meal preparation, cooking, feeding, writing a shopping list, going shopping, housework, pet care, laundry, and gardening.
To continue to work with adults with learning disabilities when they are unwell.
Working with other professionals such as doctors and therapists, to ensure consistency of support.
Supporting adults with learning disabilities in going out in the community such as personal appointments, gym, volunteering placements, swimming, theatres, days out and holidays.
Enable them to maintain their relationships with friends and assist in organising visits out to friends and family and for hosting friends and family in their home.
Becoming both a role model and companion to the individual and uncovering shared interests such as hobbies and outings.
Teaching life skills such as budgeting and paying bills and assisting adults with learning disabilities in managing their money on a daily basis such as paying and receiving change and receipts, and recording all expenditure.
To evidence the adults with learning disabilities outcomes according to their care plans and to review periodically to ensure we are still meeting their needs.
To ensure as safe as possible the living environment for the adults with learning disabilities whilst respecting the adults with learning disabilities choice and rights.
To protect the confidentiality of all information relating to the adults with learning disabilities and not divulge information to anyone who is not authorised to receive it.
To promptly report to the directors any issues concerning the care, support, or behaviour of the adults with learning disabilities and update records accordingly.
To recognise signs of abuse and immediately report abuse or suspected abuse to a director.
To maintain detailed and accurate records in respect of care, medication and support given with respect to tasks undertaken.
To adhere to CAM Supported Living CIC policies and guidelines.
To attend training as determined by CAM Supported Living CIC and for your own professional development.
To have a full, clean driving licence and be able to transport adults with learning disabilities and equipment (e.g. wheelchairs). Your vehicle must be maintained and insured in line with our Travel and Vehicle policy.
To work flexibly within the staff team including evenings, days, weekends and overnight sleep-ins on a rota basis and cover for annual leave and sickness. There may also be opportunities to accompany the adults with learning disabilities on holidays.
Breaks Away Respite Services is another side of our business where we take adults with learning disabilities on trips, short breaks, and holidays. There may be opportunities for you to become part of the Breaks Away team.
The Company Directors may amend your job description for the benefit of the business or the adults with learning disabilities. In addition to the duties set out above, you may be required to undertake additional or other reasonable duties as necessary to meet the needs of our business.

At present, we are unable to offer overseas sponsorship for employment. All applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK without the need for visa sponsorship.
