What you will be doing
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the catering team with the smooth running of the school kitchen and help maintain high standards of food preparation and cleanliness.
Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with basic food preparation and serving meals

Supporting chefs and the wider kitchen team

Washing up and keeping kitchen areas clean and organised

Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures
-
Helping with deliveries, stock rotation and storage
-
Supporting the team during busy service periods

Ensuring the kitchen remains clean, safe and well organised
Requirements
-
Previous experience working as a Kitchen Assistant or in a similar catering environment is desirable

Experience within a school or education setting is desirable
-
Enhanced DBS required
-
2 references required
-
Food Safety Level 2 certificate required (or willingness to obtain)

Food Allergen certificate required (or willingness to obtain)

Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety

Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team

Good communication and organisational skills
