Paul Dodds Law is a long-established firm of solicitors. The firm is passionate about providing outstanding client satisfaction over a broad range of legal services to businesses and individuals.
The firm would like to appoint a part-time legal secretary to provide administrative support to the firm's fee-earners.
The successful candidate will be required to work from Monday to Friday.
We require someone to work either mornings 9 am to 1 pm, or alternatively, afternoons 1 pm to 5 pm.
This is a permanent position.
Requirements:
Although some experience of a legal environment would be useful the ability to type quickly and accurately is more important.
Experience in audio typing is highly desirable.
You should be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and have good IT skills.
You should have strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to details.
You should have exceptional time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
The role includes (but is not limited to):
Audio typing from digital dictation.
Diary management.
Dealing with telephone calls from clients and other professionals.
Assisting a solicitor with day-to-day administrative tasks, including handling correspondence.
Draft and formal legal documents, such as letters, witness statements and court orders.
Prepare and file documents with courts, adhering to rules and procedures. Monitor case deadlines and communicate relevant information to the legal team.
Uphold strict confidentiality in handling sensitive information and adhere to professional and ethical standards.
The successful candidate will:
Have a proven track record and recent experience as a typist
Have proven administrative skills
Have fast and accurate typing skills
Be highly organised and self-motivated
Be able to work under pressure and use their own initiative
