Deputy Manager – Fernbees Day Nursery (Hazel Grove, Stockport)
Fernbees Day Nursery, based on the grounds of Fernlea Care Home, is a unique early years setting with a dedicated focus on intergenerational activity. We are now looking for a motivated and passionate Deputy Manager to join our growing team.

The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will:
- Support the Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the nursery
- Lead, coach and inspire the nursery team
- Help develop our intergenerational programme with Fernlea residents
- Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding and EYFS practice
- Build strong relationships with children, families and professionals
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an early years setting
- Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding
- Confident communicator with children, families and colleagues
- Experience supporting or leading a team
- Paediatric First Aid (12 hours) – essential
- Level 2 Food Hygiene or willingness to complete
- Commitment to high‑quality childcare and early years learning
Desirable
- Experience managing rotas/staff deployment
- Knowledge of Local Authority and inspection processes
- Higher Early Years qualifications (Foundation Degree, EYPP/EYTT/QTS)
- Full, clean driving licence
