Premier Forest Products is currently recruiting for a Class 2 Driver to join our busy transport team in Newport.
Our business specialises in the supply and delivery of timber, sheet materials and other products to a wide range of customers across the UK. As a Class 2 Driver, you will play an important role in ensuring our customers receive their deliveries safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
What you will be doing .....
You will be responsible for completing daily multi-drop deliveries, safely transporting and off-loading materials, while providing excellent customer service and representing the company professionally at every customer site.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
· Completing daily multi-drop deliveries safely, efficiently and in line with company procedures.
· Ensuring all loads are safely secured and loaded in the correct sequence for your scheduled route.
· Safely off-loading materials at customer sites.
· Carrying out daily vehicle safety and maintenance checks to ensure your vehicle remains fully roadworthy.
· Working closely with the Transport Team to optimise routes and vehicle utilisation.
· Providing excellent customer service and maintaining high company standards at every customer site.
· Obtaining customer signatures for all deliveries and returning completed Proof of Delivery (POD) paperwork.
· Following established depot procedures for all returned goods.
· Maintaining a strict understanding of operational requirements, including Group Health & Safety standards.
· Driving other classes of company vehicles where appropriately licensed and required.
· Undertaking fully-funded HIAB training and developing additional driving and loading skills.

A reliable, professional and safety-conscious Class 2 Driver with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
A flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a busy transport team.
Essential:
· Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.
· Valid Driver CPC Qualification.
· Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
· No more than 6 active penalty points on your driving licence, subject to company insurance requirements.
· A positive, safety-first mindset and willingness to learn new skills.
Desirable:
· HIAB / Lorry Loader crane certificate.
· Previous HIAB / Lorry Loader experience.
· Previous multi-drop delivery experience.
· Experience delivering timber, building materials or similar products.
