Job Summary
Join our friendly team as a Temporary Cattery Assistant and play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support for our feline residents. This position offers the opportunity to work in fantastic animal care environment, providing very high standards of care/cleanliness thus ensuring the well-being and comfort of cats boarding with us. As a team member, you will assist with daily cattery operations, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and contributing to the happiness of our furry guests. This paid temporary role is perfect for passionate animal lovers. However, it is a very physical role with a large part of the day spent on your feet, bending and some lifting.
Duties
- Assist with feeding and watering the cats in accordance with owners instructions
- Clean and sanitize cattery spaces, including bedding, litter boxes, and common areas
- Monitor cats’ health and behavior, reporting any concerns to senior staff promptly
- Provide friendly assistance to visitors
- Handle lifting tasks such as moving carriers, cleaning supplies and equipment safely and efficientl
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of daily activities, health observations, and cleaning schedules
Skills
- Prior veterinary experience or strong animal care background preferred
- Passionate about animal welfare with a genuine love for cats
- Excellent team working manner
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina throughout shifts
- Strong attention to detail for record keeping and cleanliness standards
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report concerns clearly
- Adaptable and energetic attitude to thrive in a fast-paced animal care environment
- Own transport is essential due to location
Pay: Up to £12.75 per hour
