At HVR International, we’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team in Jarrow. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and continuously improving health, safety, and environmental standards across our operations.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you’ll work closely with teams across the business to ensure legal compliance, promote a positive safety culture, and help drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
As our Health & Safety Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
Accident & Incident Management
- Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses
- Identifying root causes and corrective actions
- Maintaining accident records and safety metrics
- Supporting insurance documentation processes
Training & Compliance
- Organising H&S inductions and safety training
- Maintaining training and compliance records
- Providing guidance on HSE matters across the business
- Coordinating First Aid training and updates
Audits, Inspections & Risk Management
- Conducting workplace inspections and safety audits
- Managing risk assessments and COSHH records
- Monitoring PPE, permits to work, and safe systems of work
- Supporting emergency preparedness and fire safety procedures
Promoting a Positive Safety Culture
- Facilitating safety meetings and communications
- Encouraging employee engagement and accountability
- Working collaboratively across departments
- Supporting contractors and external compliance requirements
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Organised, proactive, and highly detail-oriented
- Confident communicating with people at all levels
- Experienced in Health & Safety administration or coordination
- Knowledgeable of HSE legislation and compliance requirements
- Comfortable managing records, audits, and investigations
- Passionate about promoting workplace safety and continuous improvement
Experience within manufacturing or industrial environments would be advantageous.
