Bristol Maritime is a specialist training and on-water solutions company operating two brands: Bristol Maritime Academy (RYA, RLSS and Nuco accredited training) and BM Safety (pontoons, safety boats and on-water access for construction, environmental and survey clients).
We're one of the UK's largest providers of water safety training for people who work near, in or on water—from ecology and environmental teams to construction and infrastructure crews.
The Role
We're looking for a full-time Powerboat and Water Safety Instructor to deliver RYA and RLSS accredited courses across our training bases and at client sites nationwide.
You'll be:
- Teaching RYA Powerboat courses from beginner through to commercial level
- Leading RLSS UK DEFRA Water Safety courses to company and accreditation standards
- Supporting course setup, logistics and equipment maintenance
- Mentoring trainee and freelance instructors
- Occasionally working with BM Safety on on-water access projects (safety boats, pontoons)
Overnight travel is required for national contracts.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Qualified RYA Powerboat Instructor, RLSS Water Safety Instructor, or both
- Self-motivated, adaptable and comfortable teaching outdoors in all conditions
- Happy to travel across the UK when required
Desirable:
- Background in outdoor instruction (swimming, kayaking, rafting, outdoor education)
- Experience working on or near water

Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
