Interested in joining our team?
We're a friendly, family-run haulage business that believes work should be professional, productive... and occasionally include tea, biscuits and a laugh along the way.
We're looking for someone who already has some experience within the transport or fleet maintenance sector, someone who understands that keeping a fleet legal, compliant and on the road doesn't happen by accident. If you're organised, enjoy ticking jobs off a list, and don't mind reminding people that an MOT doesn't magically book itself, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
This is a full-time, office-based position supporting the day-to-day management of our fleet maintenance and legal compliance.
You'll play a key role in ensuring our vehicles remain safe, roadworthy and compliant by coordinating maintenance schedules, monitoring legal deadlines and keeping accurate records. Every day is different, so you'll need to be organised, proactive and happy juggling multiple priorities.
Key ResponsibilitiesFleet Maintenance & Compliance
- Manage and monitor MOT schedules to ensure every vehicle remains road legal.
- Plan and coordinate vehicle servicing, preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
- Schedule and monitor six-weekly inspections in line with Operator Licence requirements.
- Liaise with our workshop and external garages to arrange servicing, repairs and inspections.
- Monitor reported vehicle defects and ensure repairs are completed promptly.
- Maintain accurate maintenance histories and fleet records.
- Ensure vehicle tax, operator licence documentation and statutory requirements remain up to date.
- Assist with compliance relating to DVSA regulations and Operator Licence obligations.
- Prepare and maintain digital and paper records for audits and compliance inspections.
- Support the business during regulatory visits and compliance audits.
- Help ensure our fleet operates safely, efficiently and with minimal downtime.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who already has a good understanding of transport operations and fleet maintenance planning. You don't need to know absolutely everything (none of us did when we started), but you should already have experience in a transport, haulage or fleet maintenance environment.
Ideally you'll have:
- Previous experience working within the transport, logistics or haulage industry.
- Experience coordinating vehicle maintenance, servicing or fleet compliance.
- A good understanding of MOT scheduling, preventative maintenance and inspection programmes.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate record-keeping skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a close-knit team.
- A proactive attitude, common sense and a willingness to take ownership of your work.
- A positive personality and a good sense of humour, because transport can be challenging enough without taking ourselves too seriously.
What We Offer
- A professional office environment within a busy, growing family-run transport business.
- Full support from an experienced team.
- Ongoing training and opportunities for career development.
- Free on-site parking.
- Company healthcare.
- Company pension.
- A supportive workplace where your ideas and contribution genuinely matter.
- Plenty of tea, biscuits and the occasional debate over whose turn it is to make the next brew.
Salary
Starting salary: £31,000 per year.
That's exactly what it is—a starting salary.
We don't believe you should have to wait for an annual pay review if you're making a real difference. We recognise commitment, reliability and initiative when we see it.
Show us what you can do, take ownership of your role and help keep our fleet operating at its best, and your earning potential will grow with the value you bring, not simply the length of time you've been here.
If you enjoy organisation, thrive on keeping things compliant and take pride in helping a busy fleet stay safe, legal and on the road, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a full-time, permanent position.
