Why we need this Role
The scale of Child Sexual Abuse in England and Wales is truly staggering. Children make up only 20% of the population but are the victims in 40% of all sexual offences. Its impact is devastating and long-lasting. It not only affects victims, but it also has profound consequences for families and wider society. It undermines public health, public safety and the economic wealth of the country.
Safeline knows Child Sexual Abuse is preventable. It has been delivering effective Prevention and Early Intervention services to thousands of children and young people for over 15 years. The risks are growing and we need to respond. To help us successfully address the many challenges children and young people face, we want to strengthen our team by recruiting an experienced, motivated, capable senior manager who will help us achieve our goal.
Key Responsibilities:
·Responsible for the effective and safe delivery of Safeline’s comprehensive Prevention and Early Intervention services. Key responsibilities include:
· Provide professional, motivational and supportive leadership to a team of Project Coordinators to successfully deliver effective Prevention and Early Intervention support to sexually abused and vulnerable children and young people, across Warwickshire.
· Responsible for ensuring Safeguarding policies and procedures are fully complied with.
· Build positive, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders that are essential in helping to protect and support vulnerable children and young people.
· Work with the Head of Prevention and Early Intervention, and other direct reports, to create and deliver a strategy that will keep Warwickshire children and young people safe, free from trauma and empower them to thrive.
· Manage a small caseload of CYP delivering a range of interventions to vulnerable CYP.
· Capture and analyse a wide range of data to help drive continuous improvement, inform policy and practice, support income generation.
· Invest in personal development to improve your own performance, the performance of the team and the organisation.
· Work with other Safeline services to ensure all the needs of vulnerable children and young people are met.
· Cover for the Head of Service when required.
Person Specification
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Extensive experience supporting vulnerable children and young people, and a proven track record of delivering effective outcomes.
- A knowledge of child sexual abuse and exploitation, symptoms, impact and trauma responses.
- Line management experience
- Experience of teaching, motivating and supporting children and young people
- Extensive safeguarding experience, with confidence in reporting disclosures to statutory agencies.
- Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships.
