We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and nurturing Early Years Practitioner, qualified to Level 2 or above, to join our friendly and experienced nursery team.
At Little Jigsaw’s Nursery, we believe childhood should feel warm, safe and unhurried. Our nursery has a cosy, homely Hygge-inspired approach, where children are encouraged to explore, play, learn and develop while building secure and meaningful relationships with the adults who care for them.
We are proud of the welcoming environment we have created for our children, families and staff, and we are looking for someone who shares our genuine love of early years.
The position is for approximately 30 hours per week, although we may be able to consider alternative hours for the right candidate. Flexibility is required to help us maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios across the nursery day.
We Would Love to Hear From You If You:
- Hold a relevant Level 2 Early Years/Childcare qualification or above
- Have at least one year's experience working with children
- Ideally have experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting
- Have a genuine passion for caring for, supporting and educating young children
- Have a good understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding
- Understand the importance of children's emotional wellbeing and creating secure attachments
- Enjoy working as part of a supportive team
- Are keen to continue learning, developing and building your Early Years knowledge
- Believe in developing positive and respectful partnerships with parents and families
Your Role Will Include:
Working with children from approximately 6 weeks to 4 years old, providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment in which they can thrive.
You will:
- Act as a caring and responsive Key Person, building strong relationships with children and their families
- Support children's learning, development and individual interests through meaningful play and experiences
- Ensure every child feels safe, valued, included and supported
- Observe and respond to children's individual needs and stages of development
- Work closely with your colleagues as part of a supportive nursery team
- Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and child welfare
- Create opportunities for children to have fun, explore and develop within an engaging environment
- Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety
- Follow nursery policies, procedures and safeguarding practices consistently
- Contribute positively to the warm, welcoming and homely atmosphere of Little Jigsaw’s
