Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Multi-Skilled MET Technician to join our busy accident repair centre.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MET Technician looking to work within a professional, modern accident repair environment.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled MET Technician, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient removal, repair and refitting of vehicle components following accident damage.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out Strip & Fit (MET) work as part of the vehicle accident repair process.
- Removing and refitting trim components.
- Removing and refitting vehicle interiors and associated trim components.
- Removing and refitting bumpers, headlights, lamps, sensors and other vehicle components.
- Carrying out electrical disconnections and reconnections following manufacturer procedures.
- Working with modern vehicle electrical systems and technology.
- Assisting with the safe removal and refitting of ADAS-related components where required.
- Carrying out plastic repairs to vehicle components where required.
- Following manufacturer repair methods and technical information.
- Identifying additional damage and reporting findings to the Workshop Controller or Estimator.
- Working closely with Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians, Estimators and Workshop Controllers.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and to a high standard.
- Carrying out quality checks before vehicles progress through the repair process.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
About You
We are looking for an experienced MET Technician with a background in vehicle accident repair.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience within an accident repair/Bodyshop environment.
- Strong MET knowledge and experience.
- Experience removing and refitting vehicle mechanical, electrical and trim components.
- Good knowledge of modern vehicle construction and repair methods.
- The ability to carry out plastic repairs to vehicle components would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of manufacturer repair procedures and technical information.
- A high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant automotive qualifications such as NVQ, IMI or ATA would be advantageous.
