Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to our residents. This role involves supervising care staff, developing and implementing care plans, and ensuring the wellbeing of all residents. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital part in fostering a warm, safe, and supportive environment for our residents, promoting independence and dignity at all times.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support care staff to deliver exceptional person-centred care
- Assist in the development, review, and implementation of personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
- Provide direct care to residents, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance with care regulations
- Organise and oversee activities that promote social engagement and mental stimulation among residents
- Ensure effective communication within the team and with external healthcare providers
- Assist with training new staff members and supervise junior team members as required
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a care home specialising in senior or elderly care
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to develop and manage care plans tailored to individual needs
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in senior care and promoting independence
