Job Summary
Join our growing team as a Customer Service Advisor, where you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our concrete and aggregates business. As the first point of contact for customers, you will provide professional, friendly, and efficient service while coordinating deliveries, processing orders, and ensuring smooth communication between customers, drivers, and the sales team.
This is a fast-paced and varied position that requires excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for accurately booking jobs using AggSmart, managing customer enquiries, monitoring deliveries, and helping to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process and book customer orders and jobs using the AggSmart scheduling system.
- Act as the first point of contact for customers, handling incoming telephone calls, emails, and sales enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring all customers receive prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable support.
- Make outbound sales calls and send emails to generate new business opportunities and strengthen existing customer relationships.
- Liaise closely with customers, drivers, production staff, and the Sales Manager to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
- Monitor live jobs and delivery schedules, providing timely updates to customers and drivers as required.
- Respond to customer enquiries regarding concrete and aggregate products, availability, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate customer records and order information within company systems.
- Resolve customer issues quickly and effectively, escalating more complex matters when necessary.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Support the wider team with administrative and operational duties as required.
- Carry out ad hoc duties to support the needs of the business.
- Develop and maintain a good understanding of the company's concrete and aggregate products (training provided where required).
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within Customer Service, Sales Support, Operations Coordination, Transport Planning, Service Desk, or Call Centre environments.
- Excellent telephone manner and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, organised, and make informed decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office .
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accurate data entry.
- A proactive, positive, and solutions-focused approach to customer service.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
- Confident in building relationships with customers, colleagues, drivers, and suppliers.
- Commercial awareness and confidence in identifying sales opportunities.
- Knowledge of concrete, aggregates, construction materials, or transport operations would be advantageous but is not essential.
- A professional, reliable, and customer-focused attitude with a commitment to delivering outstanding service at all times.
