Assistant General Manager - The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Assistant General Manager to join a vibrant, high-profile restaurant in Central London.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an established Assistant General Manager, Deputy General Manager or strong Restaurant Manager looking to join an exciting and growing restaurant group.
The restaurant is busy, stylish and fast-paced, with a real focus on delivering fantastic food, drinks, service and atmosphere. We are looking for a hands-on leader with plenty of personality who enjoys being at the heart of a busy service and leading a team from the front.
The Role
As Assistant General Manager, you will support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the restaurant and take a key role in leading, motivating and developing the front-of-house team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day operation of a busy restaurant
- Leading from the front and being a visible presence on the floor
- Delivering exceptional customer service and memorable guest experiences
- Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team
- Maintaining excellent standards of service, presentation and cleanliness
- Supporting with recruitment, training and team development
- Managing labour, sales and other key operational KPIs
- Driving commercial performance and supporting the continued success of the business
- Taking responsibility for the restaurant in the General Manager's absence
What We're Looking For
The successful Assistant General Manager will have:
- Experience as an Assistant General Manager, Deputy General Manager or Restaurant Manager
- A background in a busy, high-volume restaurant, premium casual dining or quality hospitality environment
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- A hands-on approach and a passion for delivering great hospitality
- Experience managing busy services and leading teams in a fast-paced environment
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of labour, sales and operational controls
- A positive, energetic and proactive approach
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to lead from the front
