Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Helper - Support Worker with a difference (there is no personal care required!) to individuals in their own homes. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and enhancing their quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to adapt to each individual's unique needs. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living tasks such as cleaning, meal preparation, and household chores.
- Support clients in maintaining their independence by helping with mobility and daily routines
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Drive clients to appointments, social activities, or errands as required
- Basic gardening, cutting grass
- Communicate effectively with clients and possibly family members
Requirements
- Valid driving licence and own vehicle preferred for client transportation duties
- Good command of English, both spoken and written, for effective communication
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ wellbeing
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
- No weekend work if not wanted
Currently we are looking for someone to work 3 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 1 hour each day in Christchurch. You will be helping an elderly lady to make sure she is well and do light jobs about the house.
More hours will come available, but this is just a start.
