Job Summary
Riley's are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Curtain Maker to join our in-house workroom team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the manufacture of bespoke curtains, roman blinds & cushions to an exceptional standard. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and strong experience in both machine & hand sewing.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect fabrics & linings
- Cut fabric accurately according to specified dimensions using appropriate tools.
- Sew and assemble curtain , headers, and hems with precision, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal.
- Attach fittings such as hooks, eyelets & rings as required
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance, making adjustments as necessary.
- Operate sewing machines & equipment efficiently & safely
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to uphold safety standards and optimise productivity.
- Collaborate with the sales team to select suitable fabrics and styles based on client preferences & to ensure orders are made on schedule
Qualifications
- Experience in curtain making, hand sewing & machine sewing is preferable but not essential (inc blind hemmer & overlocker)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Confidence in sewing ability when working with a variety of fabrics.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
