Your Role
The InsoLion Operative is responsible for the full manufacturing cycle for the organisations InsoLion product ranges. Reporting into the department Supervisor the InsoLion Operative is responsible for all water jet cutting, machining, assembly and primary packaging relating to the InsoLion product ranges. Working with other functions it is the Insolion Operatives responsibility to ensure all products are manufactured efficiently against a scheduled production plan and to the highest possible quality in line with the organisations QMS and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the fulfilment of production plans on a daily basis by coordinating all cutting, machining, assembly and packaging operations.
- Use your operating skills to deliver a product that meets the desired customer and James Walker quality standard.
- Manufacture to instructions on Works Orders, to all dates required.
- Drive a culture of Health and Safety and ensure all equipment used is maintained and/or calibrated.
- Site housekeeping including correct storage and identification of all raw material, WIP and finished goods prior to receipt into stock or dispatch.
- Maintain a high degree of competency in line with the company standards documentation.
- Maintain a clean and structured working area ensuring compliance with the business’s 6S standards.
- Establish and maintain an effective relationship between you and other manufacturing team members.
- Assist the organisations management team in developing strong links with manufacturing disciplines, to become a two-way conduit to establish clear processes to generate the required On Time in Full (OTIF).
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
About you
Preferred Skill & Experience
- Knowledge of engineering processes or demonstrable ability to learn.
- Gasket Industry manufacturing Knowledge.
Essential Skill & Experience
- Experience of operating NC/CNC machines.
- Dexterity and mechanical aptitude
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge of imperial and metric measurements.
- Be able to use measuring equipment such as verniers’ and micrometers.
- Can read engineering drawings.
- Strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and be detail oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ in Engineering / Apprentice trained.
- Fork Lift Truck Driving License
Essential Qualifications
- Functional skills qualification in English and Mathematics.
