Warehouse Supervisor
Salary - £32,000 per annum
Location – Silchester
Based in Silchester, near Reading, CTS has been transporting the most dangerous, delicate, and difficult consignments across the globe for over 29 years.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as Warehouse Supervisor, you will be supporting the Logistics Team and working as a ‘hands-on’ integral part of the warehouse team.
You will hold additional responsibility for monitoring & adjusting freight flow and processes to ensure all client SLAs and company KPIs, security protocols, and aviation security compliance are adhered to.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following;
1. To develop and maintain a thorough knowledge & understanding of the full OSSC operation in addition to the technical, legal/compliance & customer requirements (NXCT, PAS 97, Cargo Operative Screener, Forklift (C/balance and Reach, DG Awareness, WMS, OSSC Operating Procedures)
2. Monitoring the daily throughput of consignments and allocating appropriate resources to the various workstations around the warehouse to ensure that all consignments are processed (to or from storage) and loaded onto the CTS trunk vehicle to meet scheduled delivery time slots to the client’s site
3. Allocating appropriate resources to workstations to ensure air freight consignments are processed compliantly to aviation security requirements for Global.
4. Allocating appropriate resources to workstations to ensure consignments are processed into and out of secure storage for Road Transport
5. Ensuring that all operational procedures are adhered to and compliant with agreed client SLAs and CTS quality standards
6. Maintaining a safe, clean, tidy, and professional warehouse environment in line with KPIs set by Logistics Manager
7. Control of opening and closing hours to see freight in and out
8. Daily reporting, troubleshooting client queries/issues, training & monitoring of warehouse staff in various warehouse processes (off-site scanning process for client, aviation security process for Global, secure storage process for Road Transport), follow up to operational incidents/events (feedback, documented 1 to 1s/performance discussions with staff, corrective training, etc.), keeping equipment operating by enforcing correct operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, facilitating repairs & preventative maintenance, maintaining the security integrity of the warehouse
9. To ensure compliance with all storage reporting and logs.
12. Produce daily reports for the client.
13. Monitor the 3rd party collection process and flag any issues with the client.
14. To ensure all items entering the warehouse are scrutinised before acceptance to ensure the required standards are met.
15. To hold keyholder and on call responsibilities
Essential:
· Experienced in warehouse operation – goods in/out, forklift operations, meeting daily/weekly/monthly KPIs/targets
· General knowledge of H&S legislation and good practice
· A strong customer service ethos commensurate with CTS expectations
· Innovative ideas with the determination to work with management to facilitate change, drive efficiencies and performance improvement
· The ability to engage with and motivate the team to deliver consistently high results; very importantly you must be able to show that you can balance being a part of the OSSC team but standing apart when required to enforce difficult/unpopular decisions
· Excellent communication skills: the ability to impart clear instructions to team members, listen to and act appropriately on feedback from your team, liaise with the client, suppliers, maintenance providers, CTS management etc.
· Strong IT capability with proven experience in Excel, Outlook & Monthly reporting.
Desirable
· Forklift (Reach/Counterbalance) certification
· Air Cargo Security trained (min Cargo Operative)
· NXCT (National X Ray Competency Test)
· PAS97:2015 mail screening and security trained
· Dangerous Goods aware
Security vetting is a requirement for all roles at CTS and any offers of employment are made subject to obtaining and maintaining the necessary security clearance. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and will be required to provide proof of 5 years of UK residency.
