Job Overview
We are looking for a Qualified Dental Nurse to join our team.
Our practice is based in the heart of York, are independently owned and provides fully private dental care. In addition to general private dentistry, we offer, implants, fixed orthodontics, invisalign, full mouth rehabilitation, complex rct, smile makeovers and composite bonding
If you are looking for the opportunity to progress, we could be the perfect fit, as we offer fully funded training courses (e.g: radiography, oral health educator, orthodontics) and the option of additional duties (e.g: first aider, fire marshal etc).
Working hours: 07.45 - 17.30 Monday to Friday, 3-5 days per week with 1 hour lunch break per day. Most team members opt for 4 days per week (35 hours) but we are happy to accept applications for 3 days (26.25 hours) and 5 days a week (43.75 hours).
Starting salary: £14.50 per hour - increase dependent on experience/additional qualification.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- To provide a reliable, efficient and timely service to ensure we exceed patient expectations at every visit and provide a first class customer experience
- To work as part of the whole dental team to assist in the provision and delivery of dental care services to patients.
- Ensure that all activities undertaken at the practice are in line with our policies and procedures.
- To provide clinical chairside support to the clinician and maintain stock levels of consumables within the surgery
- To ensure a high level of cross infection control and decontaminate dental instruments
- To maintain and update patient records
- To carry out administration duties and provide support to our patients via our call centre or reception on occasion
Specific Skills Required:
- Dental Nursing Qualification
- Registered with the GDC
- Minimum of 2 years dental nursing experience is preferable
- Be able to maintain a strong emphasis on the patient journey and level of service provided
- Have a willingness to learn and a motivated approach to continued professional development.
- Be able to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Be proactive and have a caring, positive mental attitude
- Experience with Dentally Software desirable (training will be provided)
- Have a good level of computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft office 365
