Overview
We are seeking a professional and personable Night Porter/Receptionist to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk during evening hours, providing exceptional guest services and maintaining a welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and previous experience within hospitality or hotel settings. Multilingual abilities and strong phone etiquette are highly desirable to assist our diverse clientele effectively.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and during their stay, ensuring a positive experience.
- Manage guest check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and accurately.
- Handle all guest enquiries with professionalism, providing information about hotel services and local attractions.
- Maintain the security of the premises by monitoring access points and conducting regular patrols.
- Respond promptly to guest requests, complaints, or emergencies, escalating issues when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of guest bookings, payments, and other relevant documentation.
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy, organised, and welcoming throughout your shift.
- Utilise multilingual skills to assist international guests effectively.
- Adhere to hotel policies regarding confidentiality, safety, and guest privacy.
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality or hotel reception roles is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of guest services principles and hotel operations.
- Proficiency in multiple languages (bilingual or multilingual) is advantageous.
- Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally over the phone.
- Familiarity with hospitality management systems or booking software is beneficial.
- Experience working night shifts in a customer-facing environment is desirable but not essential.
