Location: Chipping, Preston
Pay: £16.50 per hour
Shift Pattern: 3 on 3 off rolling shift pattern working 10am - 10pm (no sleeps!)
Annual equivalent income: Aprox £36,234 per year based on the shift pattern above
Potential bonus package: up to £4,800 performance related bonus per year (total annual income potential up to aprox £41,034)
Oncall rotation: Oncall Safeguarding every 1 in 4, starting from 5pm and finishing 9am the following day. These are paid at £50 per shift.
- Paid mileage at 45p per mile for work related travel over 30 miles (Round Trip)

We are looking for a confident and experienced Deputy Manager to support our home in Chipping, Preston and lead with purpose every day.
The Role
As Deputy Manager you will support the Registered Manager with the day to day running of the home, helping the team deliver consistent, trauma informed care. You will lead by example, keep standards high, and help create a calm and nurturing environment where children feel safe and supported.

What You’ll Do
- Support the Registered Manager with the daily operations of the home
- Work alongside another deputy on an opposing shift pattern
- Lead, mentor and develop the staff team to deliver high quality care
- Help coordinate shifts, routines and consistent practice across the home
- Oversee care planning, recordings, incident reporting and safeguarding processes
- Promote a safe, nurturing and structured environment for children aged 8 to 18
- Build positive relationships with children through steady, trauma informed care
- Work closely with external professionals to provide stability and joined up support
- Step in confidently during challenging situations, keeping a calm and consistent approach
- Support best practice around behaviour, boundaries, routines and independence
Who We’re Looking For
- At least 2 years recent experience in a children’s residential care setting.
- At least 1 year in a supervisory role such as Senior, Team Leader or Deputy.
- Have, or be part way through a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or Level 4 Children, Young People and Families.
- Willingness to work work towards a Level 5 Leadership and Management, to be completed within 2 years of start date.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and confident decision making.
- Calm, resilient and consistent, especially in challenging moments.
- A natural leader who can support a team and keep standards on track.
