Boys & Maughan, one of East Kent's leading and longest-established law firms, is looking for a friendly and proactive Legal Receptionist and Administrator to join our Canterbury office.
This is an important front-of-house role where you will be one of the first points of contact for our clients and visitors. Alongside reception and administrative duties, you will provide secretarial support to fee earners, making this a varied and rewarding position within a busy legal practice.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent client service and can help create a warm, professional welcome for everyone who contacts the firm.
Main responsibilities
- Welcoming clients and providing a professional reception service
- Opening new client files and liaising with colleagues across the firm
- Accurate data entry and document management, including filing, scanning and copying
- Handling incoming and outgoing post
- Providing general administrative support
- Secretarial duties including transcribing dictation, following up enquiries, drafting correspondence and documentation, and assisting with financial administration
What we are looking for
- Previous administrative, secretarial or customer service experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to manage a busy and varied workload
- Confidence using computer systems and learning new processes
- A willingness to learn and develop within the role
Previous legal experience would be helpful but is not essential. Full training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
