Rochdale Boroughwide Housing is looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Assets and Investment to lead the delivery of our asset management, investment and sustainability ambitions.
This is an exciting opportunity for a high-performing leader who is passionate about delivering safe, sustainable and high-quality homes, whilst ensuring our assets are managed effectively to maximise value, meet regulatory requirements and support long-term business performance.
Reporting to the Director of Property Services, you will lead our Assets and Investment Service, driving strategic asset management, planned investment and decarbonisation programmes. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our homes remain safe, compliant and fit for the future while placing customers at the heart of decision-making.
What you'll be doing as our Head of Assets and Investment

Leading and being accountable for RBH's Asset and Investment Service.

Providing strategic leadership for asset management, planned investment and decarbonisation programmes.

Overseeing asset performance, condition data and investment planning across all RBH properties.

Developing and delivering asset management and environmental sustainability strategies.

Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory and consumer standards.

Leading the planning and delivery of major investment programmes that improve homes and communities.

Managing significant budgets and ensuring effective financial control, value for money and resource allocation.

Using data and insight to inform strategic investment decisions and optimise asset performance.

Identifying and securing external funding opportunities to support investment and sustainability objectives.

Providing robust reporting, assurance and performance information to senior leaders and the Board.

Leading service improvements, innovation and operational excellence across the function.

Building strong partnerships with customers, contractors, local authorities, registered providers and other key stakeholders.

Developing high-performing teams and creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and customer focus.
About you
You will be a strategic and inspirational leader with substantial experience in asset management, property investment and compliance within housing or property-related environments.
You will have a strong track record of delivering customer-focused services, managing complex programmes and budgets, and leading teams through change and continuous improvement.
What we're looking for

A relevant professional or academic qualification in property asset management, surveying, construction, housing or a related discipline, and/or substantial equivalent experience at a senior level.

Professional membership such as MRICS, MCIOB or similar, or demonstrable equivalent expertise.

Significant experience leading strategic asset management and/or planned investment services.

Detailed knowledge of housing asset management, compliance and regulatory requirements.

Experience developing and delivering large-scale investment and capital works programmes.

Proven ability to manage substantial budgets and make sound financial decisions.

Experience procuring and managing contractors to achieve value for money and high-quality outcomes.

Strong understanding of decarbonisation, sustainability and energy efficiency programmes.

Experience using asset data and performance information to inform strategic decision making.

Success in securing and delivering externally funded improvement programmes.

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, influence and develop others.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Experience presenting information, reports and recommendations to senior leadership teams and Boards.

Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
