Join our dynamic team at Manchester Central Hospital as a Helpdesk Operative, where your exceptional communication skills and proactive approach will play a vital role in delivering seamless Estates and Facilities support across one of the UK’s leading healthcare institutions.
As the first point of contact for all service requests, you will thrive in a fast paced environment, demonstrating professionalism, efficiency, and a commitment to excellent customer service. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual with a background in customer focused roles, ideally within healthcare or facilities management, to make a meaningful difference in a prestigious setting.

What you’ll do:

Act as the first point of contact for all Estates AND Facilities Helpdesk enquiries via calls and emails

Respond promptly to requests, accurately logging and assigning work orders in line with SLAs and KPIs

Monitor and update task records to reflect real time status and completion of requests

Liaise with internal teams to coordinate timely responses and ensure efficient service delivery

Handle customer complaints professionally, escalating issues when necessary and maintaining documentation

Support administrative duties such as filing, record keeping, and guiding new team members

Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company policies, including uniform and ID badge requirements

Flexibility to work in different areas, assist with cover during leave or sickness, and perform additional duties as directed
What you bring:

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and patients

Experience working in a customer focused environment, preferably within healthcare

Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy and dynamic setting.

Good understanding of health and safety, manual handling, and infection control practices

Professional attitude with high standards of personal hygiene, confidentiality, and behaviour

Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrate flexibility, and respond constructively to unpredictable situations
