About the Role
We’re looking for a Machinist to join our dynamic Machine Shop team and play a key role in manufacturing high-precision components.
The role and responsibilities include:
- Set, operate, and programme CNC machines to produce complex components from aluminium, steel, and other exotic materials.
- Writing and proving programs using Spark Eroder, Mazak and XYZ Controls.
- Operate manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and hand drills.
- Work from technical drawings and CAD data to achieve tight tolerances and high-quality finishes.
- Ensure all components meet Forth's strict quality standards and deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with other Machinists, Design, Engineering, and Assembly departments to deliver continuous improvement.
- Support the maintenance and cleanliness of machines and the environment.
Who We Are Looking For
We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:
- Educated to a Level 3 certificate or equivalent qualification in Machining. Along with having a strong knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
- Strong knowledge of G&M Codes, One CNC and Fusion.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and inspect your own work on both small and large batches using various materials to tight tolerances.
- Skilled in multitasking and prioritising workloads under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for problem solving.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience in a CNC machining environment, preferably within precision engineering
Pay: £26,436.80-£42,307.20 per year
