Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile General Labourer to join our team. This role involves assisting with a variety of outdoor and construction-related tasks, contributing to landscape maintenance, construction projects, and general site upkeep. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn new skills. This position offers valuable hands-on experience across multiple trades and is suitable for individuals interested in horticulture, gardening, and construction work.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with groundworks activities such as Site clearance and setting out, Digging trenches, excavating sites and Laying sub-surfaces, preparing them for secure installations of roads or pathways
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and small machinery including excavators and irrigation systems under supervision
- Supporting construction tasks such as site clearing, material handling, and basic groundwork
- Maintaining equipment and tools to ensure safety and efficiency on-site
- Assisting with the setup and dismantling of work areas for various projects
- Performing general labour duties including lifting, carrying, digging, and cleaning work sites
- Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations at all times
- Supporting team members with specialised tasks related to horticulture, gardening, or maintenance projects
Requirements
- Previous experience or knowledge in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture is advantageous but not essential
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with power tools and hand tools is preferred
- Experience operating machinery such as excavators or irrigation systems is a plus but not mandatory
- Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual labour throughout the day
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong organisational skills and attention to safety procedures
- Willingness to learn new skills related to construction, maintenance, or groundworks
- A valid qualification or relevant certification is desirable but not required
