We are seeking a skilled Occupational Health Adviser to enhance our Occupational Health services for Council employees, Schools, Academies, and external clients. This role is primarily remote, offering flexibility while delivering a full range of services, including management referrals, case management, health surveillance, wellbeing support, and fitness for work assessments. Candidates with expertise in mental health and workplace wellbeing are highly desirable.
- Deliver a comprehensive Occupational Health advisory service.
- Manage management referrals and provide timely, evidence-based advice.
- Conduct occupational health assessments and fitness for work evaluations.
- Advise managers on employee health, wellbeing, attendance, and workplace adjustments.
- Support the management of complex and long-term sickness absence cases.
- Undertake health surveillance programmes in line with statutory requirements.
- Provide occupational health input on mental health and wellbeing cases.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and confidential case notes.
- Support the development of Occupational Health policies, procedures, and standards.
- Contribute to clinical audits and continuous service improvement.
- Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and Occupational Health best practice.
- Collaborate with HR, managers, and external organisations to support employee wellbeing and attendance.
Requirements:
- Registered Adult Nurse (NMC Registered).
- Significant Occupational Health knowledge and experience.
- Experience managing Occupational Health referrals and casework.
- Knowledge of current UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience providing fitness for work advice and workplace adjustment recommendations.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Experience delivering a high-quality customer-focused service.
- Occupational Health qualification.
- Experience working within Local Government, Education, or Public Sector environments.
- Experience managing complex mental health cases.
- Mental Health qualification, training, or significant practical experience.
- Experience undertaking health surveillance programmes.
