This is a temporary position for an initial period of 3 to 6 months.
We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team on a temporary basis at our Head Office in Horsham, West Sussex.
This role will support the day-to-day operation of the finance function, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently while contributing to wider accounting and reporting activities. It offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting knowledge within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Process, record and file supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Import and reconcile bank statements.
- Support credit control activities, including managing sales ledger queries.
- Assist with onboarding new suppliers, including conducting bank account verification checks.
- Monitor debtor and creditor balances.
- Support the preparation and processing of payment runs and BACS payments.
- Reconcile employee expenses and company credit card transactions and post entries to the ledger.
- Assist with supplier novations and finance activities relating to acquisitions.
- Support month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments and journal postings.
- Produce ad hoc reports and reconciliations to support the wider Finance team.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Support internal and external audits and investigate discrepancies where required.
- Perform batch reconciliations between finance and CRM systems.
- Provide general administrative support to the Finance team as required.

Previous experience in a finance, accounts or bookkeeping environment.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIFS and Pivot Tables.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Working towards or interested in studying an accounting qualification (e.g. AAT).
- Experience within the financial services sector.
- Experience using accounting or finance systems.
