Experienced Credit Controller
Location: Motherwell, Scotland
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £28,000 per year, rising to £29,000 based on performance
AquAid is looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our team in Motherwell.
This is an important role within the business, helping to manage customer accounts, reduce overdue debt, resolve payment queries, and support the wider finance and operations teams.
We are looking for someone with previous credit control experience who is confident speaking with customers, organised in their approach, and able to manage a busy workload.
Key Responsibilities
The role will include:
- Chasing outstanding payments by phone and email
- Managing customer accounts and resolving payment queries
- Working with internal teams to resolve invoice queries
- Producing and reviewing aged debt reports
- Setting up payment plans where required
- Building strong working relationships with customers and internal teams
- Escalating overdue accounts when necessary
- Supporting month-end finance processes
- Daily banking reconciliations
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar finance role
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Good attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Excel
- Experience using Sage 200 would be an advantage
- The ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- A professional, customer-focused approach
Salary and Benefits
- Starting salary of £28,000 per year
- Rising to £29,000 per year based on performance
