Kitchen Designer
Job Purpose
Combine design expertise with sales skill to guide clients from initial enquiry through to a fully installed kitchen, ensuring both a strong customer experience and consistent sales performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Call leads from online lead sources, qualify them properly, and convert qualified leads into booked appointments; arrange home measures where needed.
- Meet with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and budget for their kitchen design and installation.
- Use specialised design software to produce detailed kitchen layouts that balance functionality, aesthetics, and available space.
- Advise customers on the latest kitchen products, materials, and appliances, matching options to their needs and budget.
- Provide accurate, transparent price quotes covering materials, labour, and any additional services.
- Use effective sales techniques — including upselling and negotiation — to close deals and meet or exceed sales targets.
- Oversee projects end-to-end, coordinating with suppliers and installation teams to ensure timely delivery and quality installation.
- Handle customer queries and concerns promptly and professionally throughout the design, sale, and installation process.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, designs, contracts, and payments in line with company policy.
- Provide post-installation support, including addressing issues and offering maintenance advice, to ensure lasting customer satisfaction.
- Build relationships with suppliers, contractors, and industry contacts to stay current on products and trends.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong kitchen design software skills and a good eye for aesthetics.
- Solid product knowledge across kitchen materials, fittings, and appliances.
- Confident communicator, comfortable both presenting design ideas and handling cold/warm sales calls.
- Skilled at qualifying leads and converting enquiries into appointments and sales.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building ability.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple live projects and meet deadlines.
- Sharp attention to detail for accurate designs, quotes, and installation specs.
- Practical problem-solver, able to resolve design or project issues as they arise.
