Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Shift Manager to join our team at Deeside. Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring machine, material, and labour efficiencies are optimized while maintaining compliance with health & safety, hygiene, and quality standards at all times. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, a proactive approach to continuous improvement, and the ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage shift operations to achieve production targets and customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and quality standards across the department.
- Monitor and improve material utilization, cycle times, and machine OEE.
- Deliver production requirements in line with the Production Plan and justify any deviations.
- Provide induction training for new employees and conduct annual reviews to identify training needs.
- Manage labour planning, absence, and holidays in line with company policy.
- Drive housekeeping standards and engage teams to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Prepare detailed shift reports and communicate key issues effectively.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with other Shift Managers and departments to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of health & safety and quality standards.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Experience in labour planning and performance management.

Additional Requirements
- Flexibility to provide cover for other Shift Managers during absence or holidays.

Working hours, Salary & Benefits Package
- Working hours: 3 shift rotating over 5 days (40.75 hrs p/wk ave.) - 3 week rotation
- Wk1: 3 x Days (Wed-Fri)
- Wk 2: 3 X Nights (Mon- Wed)
- Wk 3: 2 X days 1 rest days, 2 X nights (Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri)
