As a key member of our Technical team, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the quality, safety, and compliance of Snowdonia Cheese Company's award-winning products. This varied role combines technical administration, compliance validation, audit coordination, and day-to-day quality activities, helping to ensure our products consistently meet the highest standards from production to customer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with food manufacturing experience who is looking to develop their technical expertise and take ownership of key compliance and quality workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and maintain technical documentation, specifications, databases, records and action trackers to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
- Support and continually improve HACCP, BRCGS and Food Safety Management Systems.
- Coordinate and conduct internal audits, and support customer, certification and regulatory audits.
- Maintain traceability, due diligence and product compliance records, including mass-balance exercises
- Verify labels, artwork, product specifications and technical information to ensure legal and customer compliance.
- Coordinate supplier approvals, customer technical requirements and export documentation.
- Manage laboratory testing programmes, sampling schedules, certificates of analysis and technical data reporting.
- Support verification activities, shelf-life studies and product validation programmes
- Maintain complaint, non-conformance and corrective-action systems, supporting root cause analysis and action effectiveness reviews.
- Liaise with QA and Operations teams to maintain factory standards and support technical training activities.
- Coordinate technical readiness for new products, packaging changes and process developments.
- Monitor deadlines, identify risks, escalate issues promptly and provide clear progress updates to stakeholders across the business.
About You
Essential
- Experience within a Technical, Quality Assurance, Compliance or Specifications role in food manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of HACCP and food safety management systems.
- Familiarity with BRCGS or equivalent GFSI-recognised standards.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Confident communicator with the ability to challenge constructively and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and shared information systems.
Desirable
- Qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or a related discipline.
- Experience within dairy, cheese or chilled food manufacturing.
- Internal auditing experience or qualification.
- Knowledge of food labelling, artwork approval and legislative compliance.
- Experience working with customer specification systems and technical portals.
