The Role
We're looking for a compassionate, resilient, and proactive Support Worker to join our team in the Medway area. You'll work directly with children and young adults with complex needs, helping to implement positive behaviour support strategies, de-escalation techniques, and person-centred care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, person-centred support to children and young adults with autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy, and complex needs
- Implement individual behaviour support plans consistently and safely
- Use de-escalation and behaviour management techniques to support individuals during moments of distress
- Support with daily living activities, community access, and personal care as required
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and communication logs
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and the wider support team
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice at all times
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle.
- Experience or a genuine interest in working with children/young adults with autism, learning disabilities or complex needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, resilience, and a calm, consistent approach
- Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Previous experience in a similar role (residential, supported living, SEN school, or community support)
- Existing training in Autism, Makaton, PBS (Positive Behaviour Support), or epilepsy awareness
