Transport Planner: 4 on 4 off
SSO Group continues its strong growth and we’re now seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our high‑performing logistics operation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast‑paced, professional environment where your skills will make a genuine impact.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning multi‑drop routes across our fleet on TMS
- Arranging backloads to maximise commercial efficiency.
- Driving operational performance with smart, effective planning.
- Managing driver rotas and coordinating daily schedules.
- Ensuring full compliance with UK/EU Driver Hours & WTD legislation.
- Communicating clearly with drivers, warehouse teams and customers.
- Making commercially‑aware decisions to improve utilisation and reduce cost.
Our Fleet
You will plan for a large and varied fleet consisting of:
- 44‑tonne arctics
- 26‑tonne rigids
- 18‑tonne rigids
- Curtain sided vans
All are curtain‑siders, providing a versatile and consistent planning base.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven background as a Transport Planner.
- Strong knowledge of driver hours laws, compliance and transport regulation.
- Ability to plan multi‑drop routes with speed and accuracy.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive, solution‑focused approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- CPC Qualification desirable
