We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic and growing team. This is a key role within our pre‑construction function, responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and well‑structured cost estimates across a diverse range of projects.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in cost control, tender preparation, and project budgeting, with the ability to analyse drawings, specifications, and subcontractor information to deliver reliable pricing. You will play a vital part in supporting NKD Construction’s continued success by ensuring our estimates align with project requirements, client expectations, and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine project scope
- Conduct material take‑offs and prepare cost breakdowns
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Collaborate closely with project managers, directors, and clients
- Support value‑engineering initiatives and identify cost‑saving opportunities
- Ensure all estimates comply with industry standards, regulations, and NKD Construction procedures
- Contribute to tender submissions and pricing strategies
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator within the UK construction sector
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and market pricing
- Excellent spoken English, analytical and numerical skills
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Proficiency with estimating software and Excel
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines within a 3‑day working pattern
- 3+ Years industry experience
Working Pattern
This role is offered on a 2‑days-per‑week basis, ideal for an experienced estimator seeking flexibility while still contributing meaningfully to project success. You will work closely with the wider team to ensure smooth handovers and consistent progress on live tenders.
Pay: £25.00-£30.00 per hour
