Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Goalkeeper Coach to elevate the skills, confidence, and performance of our goalkeepers across our Essex Select Academy programme. In this dynamic role, you will design and implement specialist training programs that focus on the unique demands of goalkeeping, including shot-stopping, positioning, distribution, and communication. Your energy and expertise will inspire our goalkeepers to reach their full potential while fostering a positive and motivating environment. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive training sessions tailored specifically for goalkeepers, emphasizing technical skills, tactical awareness, and mental resilience
- Observe and analyze goalkeepers’ performances during practices and matches to identify strengths and areas for improvement
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to help goalkeepers refine their techniques and decision-making under pressure
- Provide all goalkeepers with a individual learning plan to help provide feedback or strengths and areas to improve
- Teach fundamental principles of positioning, shot-stopping, catching, punching, diving, and distribution techniques
- Foster a positive team environment where all goalkeepers feel comfortable and supported to learn
- Collaborate with head coaches and other coaching staff to integrate goalkeeper training into overall team strategies
- Monitor progress through regular assessments and adjust training plans accordingly to ensure continuous development
- Provide feedback to parents annually to help continue the progress of all individuals
Experience
- Proven sports coaching experience with a focus on goalkeeper training or similar specialist roles
- Strong background in teaching methods that promote skill acquisition and development
- Knowledge of current goalkeeper techniques, tactics, and best practices across various levels of play
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and motivate all goalkeepers of diverse ages and skill levels
- Demonstrated commitment to player safety, well-being, and ethical coaching standards

Pay: £15.00-£22.50 per hour
