Fire Door Call Centre Operator
Location: Camberwell, London – Office Based
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Role
We are a rapidly growing fire door business based in Camberwell and are looking for a confident, organised and proactive Call Centre Operator to join our expanding team.
This is an important customer-facing role within the business. You will be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing calls, speaking with customers, tenants, contractors and property representatives, coordinating appointments and ensuring enquiries are dealt with professionally and efficiently.
We are looking for someone with excellent telephone skills, strong organisation and a positive attitude who is comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle incoming customer and client calls professionally and efficiently
- Make outbound calls to customers and tenants to arrange appointments
- Schedule and coordinate fire door inspections, surveys, repairs and installation appointments
- Manage and update appointment diaries for engineers and site teams
- Respond to customer enquiries and provide clear updates regarding appointments and works
- Liaise with engineers, surveyors, contractors and office staff
- Record accurate customer, property and appointment information on internal systems
- Follow up on missed appointments and outstanding enquiries
- Assist with rescheduling and changes to engineers' diaries
- Maintain a high standard of customer service at all times
- Escalate urgent or complex issues to the appropriate member of the team
- Support the wider office and operations team as required
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a call centre, customer service, scheduling, property maintenance, construction or similar office-based environment.
You should be:
- Confident and professional on the telephone
- An excellent communicator with strong customer service skills
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple appointments and enquiries
- Comfortable working in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly
- Reliable, punctual and able to take ownership of tasks
- Confident using computers, email and office-based systems
- Accurate when entering and updating information
- A strong team player with a proactive approach to work
Experience within fire doors, fire safety, construction, social housing, property maintenance or facilities management would be advantageous, but is not essential.
