We are currently seeking Parcel Sorters to join our warehouse team based in Peterborough, PE2 9GA. The contract starts on 14th August 2026.
As a Parcel Sorter, you will be responsible for unloading, sorting, scanning, and organizing parcels within the warehouse. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that all items are processed accurately and efficiently, ready for dispatch to their correct destinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload parcels from conveyor belts.
- Sort parcels by destination.
- Scan and label parcels using handheld scanners.
- Place parcels in designated areas-cages and pallets for dispatch.
- Load sorted parcels onto vehicles for delivery.
- Ensure all parcels are handled carefully to avoid damage.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Follow health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Good level of physical fitness (ability to lift and move parcels up to [weight, e.g., 20–30kg]).
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for scanning and labelling.
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays if required.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment is an advantage but not essential (training provided).
Pay rate
- £12.71-an increase to £13.21 after 12 weeks only on night shift
