Due to continued growth and increasing customer demand, North West Seating Limited is looking for an experienced Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our production team in Wigan.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a well-established manufacturing business, producing high-quality bus seat covers used by some of the UK's leading bus manufacturers and operators.
Working with moquette, vinyl and leather, you'll manufacture seating for new production, refurbishment and aftersales projects, helping to produce seating installed on buses across the UK.

What You'll Be Doing
As an Industrial Sewing Machinist, you'll play a key role in manufacturing high-quality bus seat covers to precise production specifications.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Sewing bus seat covers using industrial sewing machines.
- Working with moquette, vinyl and leather materials.
- Producing seat covers for new production, refurbishment and aftersales projects.
- Reading production specifications and ensuring accurate assembly.
- Marking and identifying cut components ready for production.
- Maintaining stock levels of sewing consumables and materials.
- Carrying out daily cleaning and routine maintenance of sewing machines.
- Participating in weekly machine deep cleans and preventative care.
- Returning patterns, templates and samples to their correct storage locations.
- Carrying out quality inspections to ensure finished products meet company standards.
- Working safely while maintaining a clean and organised sewing area.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who takes pride in producing quality work and enjoys working in a skilled manufacturing environment.
Essential
- Previous experience operating industrial sewing machines.
- Good understanding of sewing techniques and quality standards.
- Experience working with upholstery fabrics or heavy-duty materials.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and self-motivated.
- Good organisational skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Desirable
Experience within any of the following industries would be advantageous:
- Automotive interiors
- Commercial vehicle interiors
- Bus or coach seating
- Furniture upholstery
- Marine upholstery
- Caravan or motorhome interiors
- Aircraft seating
- Leather goods manufacturing
Experience sewing transport seating is beneficial but not essential. If you have transferable industrial sewing experience, we'll provide full product-specific training.

7:30am – 4:15pm
Friday
7:00am – 1:30pm
