Assistant Football Coach (Early Years) – ProBallers Football Academy
Join the team at ProBallers Football Academy
ProBallers Football Academy is an exciting new football programme designed specifically for children aged 18 months to 5 years. We combine football with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping children develop confidence, coordination, communication and a lifelong love of being active.
We're passionate about developing not only young footballers, but also great coaches. If you're looking to start a career in football coaching, we'll support you in gaining your FA coaching qualifications while working with us.
Our sessions are energetic, engaging and centred around fun, with parents participating alongside our youngest Ballers.
As we prepare for launch, we're looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and energetic Assistant Coach to help deliver outstanding sessions and become part of our growing academy.
About the role
You'll work alongside our Lead Coach to help deliver high-quality football sessions that are exciting, safe and engaging for young children. This role will initially be on Sundays, but will also have the option of adding Saturdays once our second location is launched.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Lead Coach throughout every session.
- Setting up and packing away equipment before and after sessions.
- Encouraging, motivating and engaging children aged 18 months to 5 years.
- Supporting parents during activities where appropriate.
- Creating a fun, energetic and inclusive environment where every child feels valued.
- Helping maintain excellent safeguarding and health & safety standards.
- Welcoming families and assisting with registrations where required.
- Celebrating children's achievements and helping build their confidence through positive encouragement.
We're looking for someone who:
- Loves working with young children.
- Has a positive, energetic and enthusiastic personality.
- Is reliable, professional and punctual.
- Can communicate confidently with children and parents.
- Enjoys working as part of a team.
- Is eager to learn and develop as a coach.
- Shares our passion for helping children grow in confidence through sport.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience coaching football.
- Experience working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings.
- An FA coaching qualification.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Safeguarding training.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
Don't worry if you don't tick every box—we're far more interested in your attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn than your coaching experience.
What you'll receive
- £14–£15 per hour.
- Full training in the ProBallers coaching programme.
- Ongoing mentoring and support from experienced coaches and primary teachers.
- All session plans and equipment provided.
- The opportunity to gain your FA coaching qualifications while working with us, with support from ProBallers as you develop your coaching career.
- Opportunities to increase your hours as new venues open.
- A fun, supportive and ambitious team environment where your ideas and development are genuinely valued.
- The opportunity to grow with a brand-new football academy that has exciting long-term ambitions.
Why ProBallers?

Our goal is to provide every child with an unforgettable experience where they feel encouraged, celebrated and excited to come back every week.
As we continue to expand into new venues, we're looking for coaches who want to grow with us and become an important part of our journey from the very beginning.
