As Permit Officer, you will be responsible for the management of the Permit Office ensuring our contractors and directly employed staff are working safely through the administration of our Permit to Work system.

About You
You will possess BIFM, CIOB or equivalent qualification (NVQ level 4) or relevant experience and IOSH Managing Safely/ NEBOSH Award, Certificate, or Diploma (or equivalent).
Duties will include overseeing the design, implementation and running of an electronic permit to work and contractor site access system; and liaising with stakeholders; as well as ensuring contractors comply with the Permits system by presenting an appropriate a suitable risk assessment/safe system of work and working to the conditions of the permit, and undertaking quality checks of the permits prior to issue.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
Significant experience in working in a Facilities Management or multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
An up to date knowledge of health and safety requirements for the Higher Education sector.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to advise, support and explain complex information to multiple stakeholders and to form strong working relationships with colleagues across a large organisation.
