About the Role
At Link, we believe the best outcomes come from talented people who are given the space to do great work. We're looking for an experienced HVAC Controls Engineer who's as comfortable in a client meeting as they are in a plant room — someone who takes pride in their craft and wants to work somewhere that takes pride in supporting them. You'll be part of a close-knit, technically sharp team, leading projects end-to-end from initial design and panel build through to commissioning and handover. This is predominantly an office-based role with regular site visits and occasional client meetings, so you'll need to be as confident around a desk as you are on the tools.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Survey, scope and design EnMS/controls projects for live operational buildings
- Lead project delivery from initial brief through to handover and post-project support
- Diagnose and resolve control faults and system inefficiencies
- Optimise plant performance using trend data and system analysis
- Commission and test BMS/EnMS installations to agreed specifications
- Produce technical documentation, O&M packs and handover records
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and on-site coordination
- Liaise with FM providers, M&E contractors, principal contractors and end users
- Control project costs and identify and manage variations
- Maintain safe systems of work including RAMS preparation and permit control
What We’re Looking For
- Hands-on BMS experience — 5+ years working with building management systems across commercial or facilities environments, covering service, commissioning and project delivery
- Platform expertise — Proven experience with Trend IQ Series and/or Tridium Niagara 4; able to programme, commission and optimise without supervision
- HVAC controls knowledge — Solid understanding of mechanical plant, control sequences, heating/cooling systems and energy-saving strategies
- Project ownership — Able to take a project from survey and scope through to handover, managing commercial control, coordination, quality and documentation throughout
- Clear communication — Confident presenting technical information to non-technical clients and stakeholders, and producing professional written reports and documentation
- Live site experience — Comfortable working in operational buildings with all the constraints that brings, including permit to work, safe isolation and coordination with site teams
- Self-sufficiency — Able to manage your own workload, make sound technical decisions independently or as part of the team and flag risks proactively
