Location: Cambuslang
Type: Part-time, permanent – 14 hours per week (Job share would be considered)
Hours: Monday: 11:00am – 3:00pm; Wednesday: 3:00pm – 7:00pm; Friday 10:00am – 4:00pm
I am seeking a caring, reliable, and adaptable Personal Assistant to support me to live life in a way that suits me best. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is respectful, person-centred, and enjoys helping others feel confident, comfortable, and connected within their community.
About the Role:
You will be supporting a friendly, determined, and inquisitive young woman with a wide range of interests, including learning languages, gaming, music, television, reading, and spending time out and about.
This role involves both practical and social support, helping me with daily routines while also enabling me to stay active, build confidence, and enjoy a meaningful balance between home life and community activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support with personal care, including showering, washing, and dressing.
- Support access to the local community and participation in activities of interest.
- Assist with shopping, appointments, and social outings (cinema, coffee trips, lunches, etc)
- Encourage and support daily stretching and activities that promote physical wellbeing
- Support exploration of volunteering opportunities and structured daytime activities
- Drive to local destinations such as parks, beaches, coastal areas, and community venues
- Be understanding, responsive, and flexible when plans change
About You:
- Kind, dependable, and adaptable to changing needs
- Calm, respectful, and patient in your approach
- Genuinely motivated to support someone to achieve what matters to them
- Previous care or support experience is desirable but not essential
Essential Requirements:
- Female applicants only (in line with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010)
- Full driving licence and access to a car (mileage expenses covered by employer)
- Willingness to undertake relevant training, including diabetes training
